AlpWalk AI-Powered Walking Assist Exoskeleton Wins Top Honor at Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions

The 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva was held from March 11 to 15, 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland. Co‑organized by the Swiss Federal Government, the Canton of Geneva, the City of Geneva, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the event is one of the world’s oldest and largest invention exhibitions, often regarded as the premier international platform for assessing the technological merit and commercial potential of innovative projects. This year’s edition brought together over 1,000 inventions from 35 countries and regions, setting a new record in terms of scale, and attracted a broad audience of technology experts, intellectual property professionals, investment institutions, and industry media.

AlpWalk presented its “AI‑Powered Walking Assist Exoskeleton for the Elderly” project at the exhibition for the first time. The project stood out for its combined strengths in technological innovation, engineering maturity, and social impact, earning the highest distinction of the fair – the Grand Jury Prize.The regular award system at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions consists of gold, silver, and bronze medals. The Grand Jury Prize, however, is a special honor granted only to a select number of gold‑winning projects – it is awarded to approximately 2% of all exhibited projects, making it widely recognized as the “highest honor among golds.” This distinction reflects the international jury's strongest recognition of a project’s originality, technical readiness, and commercialization prospects. The award marks an important endorsement of AlpWalk’s capabilities in intelligent walking assist exoskeleton technology.

 

The award‑winning project addresses the growing mobility needs associated with global demographic aging, with a focus on advancing human‑centric intelligent wearable technologies. Moving beyond the limitations of traditional passive walking aids, the product integrates AI‑based motion intention recognition and human‑machine collaborative control to achieve significant improvements in walking comfort, intelligent responsiveness, and safety. It offers elderly users with limited mobility a more natural and reliable walking assistance experience. This approach – applying technical innovation to address real‑world social needs – was highly commended by the international judging panel.


Building on this achievement, AlpWalk will continue to deepen its work in intelligent walking assistance and human‑centric wearables, accelerating the deployment of its technologies in eldercare, rehabilitation support, and public service applications.
